Call of Duty: Warzone is Coming to Mobile

Get your sweaty hands ready! Warzone is coming to mobile soon!

Activision just leaked a Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile game in the near future.

In a job posting by Activision, they posted an opening for a “Features Executive Producer” with the code [WZM]. This clearly meant Warzone Mobile.

However, they quickly took down the job post later.

In this screenshot, they mentioned AAA mobile FPS in the Call of Duty franchise.

Following the rest of the job post, they specifically mentioned:

  • Harvest, adapt, and deliver essential features from Warzone console and PC into their best mobile instantiation
  • Improve the Warzone formula by proposing and producing mobile-specific additions and changes to features to ensure a best-in-class mobile experience the players will love
  • Serve as primary point of contact on Warzone Mobile leadership team for clarity and decisions on user-facing features, UX and overall quality

I don’t know why they mentioned Warzone Mobile in the last bullet but this just confirms a mobile version in the works.

Call of Duty: Warzone in PC and console has been very successful. With more than 75 million players, moving to the mobile space is a very good and profitable move for Activision. Mobile gaming has been the preferred gaming platform and is continuously rising every year.

“Mobile is now the primary driver of growth for digital games consumption, increasingly becoming the world’s preferred form of gaming.” said in this article by The Verge.

Following some of the other popular battle royale games like Fortnite and Apex Legends doing a mobile version, we could soon be playing the fun Warzone mechanics soon in our mobile devices.

It would be interesting to see how the fans will react with two Call of Duty games on mobile soon. Right now, we have Call of Duty: Mobile. Also a great hit with Call of Duty fans.

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said:

“With the introduction of Call of Duty: Mobile, we grew our player base from 40 million to 100 million players in less than a year”

“We expect significant growth in the Call of Duty franchise in 2020 as compared to 2019, as a result of this and from other unannounced Call of Duty initiatives.”

In 2019, Activision reported a huge $2.2 billion gross mobile revenue. With a new mobile game under the Warzone banner, this would surely spike.

What do you think of playing Call of Duty: Warzone on the go?

Yay or Nay?
