Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 Looks Bad On PS4 and Xbox One

Despite being made with the PS4 and Xbox One in mind, CD Projekt Red seems to have overlooked compatibility for these last gen consoles. Hype aside, the game stands playable on the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, but spells a whole lot of trouble for the consoles before them. Bugs come and go here and there, but this one is just too big and too vast to overlook and just forgive.

Aside from framerate drops, texture loading lags, and general bonkers coding, not even a Day 0, Day 1, and Week 1 patch can seem to salvage the game’s general playability. It’s just generally broken and overall unplayable for the older consoles, making the promising multiple A rated game just laughable and annoying.

The PS4 Pro and Xbox One X versions of the game give it a bit more of a fighting chance, but the game just seems to have given a fuck more to the future rather than tying things up with the past.

But with matters of virality and internet sensationability comes into play, the glitches and gunks of the game just seem to not make it happen for all of us to enjoy on old consoles.

Despite several delays, some death threats, and a lot of hype including a very random E3 appearance of Keanu Reeves, the game still fares lackluster at most. With the developer promising to have everything fixed only by February 2021, it doesn’t seem as if it’s nice to make do with what the game is today, but rather just wait for what the next 3 months is about to unfold for CD Projekt Red. Good golly.
