Cyberpunk 2077 Mods Pose Some Danger

As CD Projekt Red officially allowed for modding of their rather broken game, Cyberpunk 2077, concerns have been rising towards spyware inclusions in mods. The exploit was discovered by Reddit user u/PixelRick, as he found out that malicious code can be buried within a mod or crafted save and be executed so the creator of that mod or save could take control of a user’s PC.

It’s also indicated that CDPR was made aware of the situation, but it still was not resolved on the release of Hotfix 1.11. Problem is, the issue poses problems not only on the PC but also on the PS5, making the issue quite bigger than what it should only have been in the first place. Since CDPR has not responded yet, the only fix is another mod that closes the loophole. It’s not that hard to install, so might as well get this vulnerability fix for the meantime until CD Projekt Red decides to fix the things themselves.
