Since the start of DC FanDome this Sunday, a lot of DC hype has been swirling around the internet. This of course includes a new trailer for Wonder Woman 1984, James Gunn’s Suicide Squad, Robert Pattinson’s Batman, a teaser for the long time elusive Snyder Cut of 2017’s Justice League, among many others. But one seemed to stand out a bit more than the others, and that is the announcement for the game “Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League”
With the release of the cinematic trailer, we can only assure a few things for now. For one, it’s going to come out in 2022. Another is that it’s made by Rocksteady Studios, the same people who made the groundbreaking Arkham Series for Batman. Lastly, the cast isn’t too riddled with names of B-Listers, as they have successfully included Harley Quinn, King Shark, Deathstroke, and Captain Boomerang. Well, that’s for now and that’s for how far the comic book giant can only divulge.
Aside from the constant nagging of Amanda Waller over the comms for Task Force X to carry their asses, the big surprise was to see a hypnotized evil Superman show up by the last few seconds of the trailer, ultimately making sense of the games’ title. Ambitious as it is, it doesn’t seem to be as much of a let down so far unlike with the release of The Avengers Beta sometime last week.
In an interview by Will Arnett after the trailer reveal, Rocksteady’s creative director and co-founder Sefton Hill confirms that this co-op game is somewhat a continuation of the Arkham-verse that they have built, setting an even higher expectation than the games they had released in the past.
It surely is going to be crazy. So if you’re as hyped up as we are, let us know in the comments section below!
