Another update for Overwatch has been released by Blizzard, and it brings us a new map: Rialto. The map was first tested on the PTR but today has been released on the public servers on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
As you may already know, the Competitive Play Season 10 has started only recently. The new map however will not yet be available in Competitive Play until a currently unknown later date. This way, players will have plenty of time to learn the new map and how to play it.
If you’re playing other modes though, you’re now free to explore Rialto. Some may recognise the map somehow, even without playing on it before. This is because a modified version of it was used for the Overwatch Event Retributions PvE mode. The new map as it is however, is an Escort map. The location is set in Venice, Italy. Images below.
Rialto isn’t the only change happening in the recent update, it comes along with more changes as can be seen in the patch notes. The rework for Hanzo has been implemented where he sees a tweak to his weapon and gaining two abilities while losing the infamous ‘Scatter Arrow’.
“The goal of these Hanzo changes is to allow him to have new options and maintain his high damage output, while removing the frustration of fighting against the old Scatter Arrow,” Blizzard explained. “Hanzo is now much more mobile with his new Lunge ability, and with the combination of the bow projectile speed increase and the new Storm Arrows ability he can now deal his high damage more consistently than ever before.”
