Square Enix just announced last Friday that Final Fantasy is coming to the PS5 soon, with the open beta releasing on April 13. The teaser released offers the game in 4K and at better frame rates and loading times. Of course, if you already have it for the PS4 then there’s no need to buy another copy for the PS5.
Along with the cross-gen compatibility perk comes a new expansion pack called Endwalker, continuing of where A Realm Reborn had ended while also featuring the climax of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark
Just in case you don’t recall, Final Fantasy XIV was originally released in 2010, the game got so much backlash from players and critics that the its original director and producer left the project, and the developer shut down its servers in 2012. It relaunched in 2013 as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
