Do you happen to hate glitches in a game because they destroy the ambiance or do you happen to like them for unusual reasons?
It’s a given that Rockstar Games’ powerhouse instant sensation Red Dead Redemption 2 is already considered one of the best modern games of all time thanks to stellar graphics, immersive gameplay, wonderful characters that are well-acted, music to get enticed with, and the testicle physics of horses.
But if there’s another thing we really love about RDR2 is the absurdity of glitches in the game. Sure, you may say “No game is perfect” but for me, glitches are what makes it into perfection.
A Unique Kind of Humor
Love it or hate it, glitches are a sort of SFW fetish by gamers that contrasts everything good about a game into something that’s indirectly comedic. Let’s just say they’re so bad, they’re good.
Meticulous will disagree with what I just said but for those of us who just want a bit of spontaneous and often funny moments on an otherwise deep and enthralling game, specifically on open-world games, it’s something magical.
Not like Thatgamecompany’s 2012 masterpiece, Journey type of magical but rather magical in a sense where such things only exist in video games.
Take The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion or TESV: Skyrim for example. Some may say these Bethesda games are catastrophic to the point where the glitches ruin the game but for me at least, it’s beautiful.

Now going back to the topic, yes, RDR2’s contrasting glitches that break the immersion are actually beautiful. After all, it still is a video game.
