Rockstar may have almost opened its GTA Online casino after all these years, but the fans have already turned their attention to the other famous open world of the studio. Namely Red Ded Redemption 2. There is a DLC rumor going around on Reddit.
Undead Nightmare with Aliens in Red Dead 2?
According to a Reddit user named throwaway11113454, a friend / environment artist at Rockstar has confirmed that the studio is currently working on a large piece of story DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2. Probably scheduled to be released around December 2019 / January 2020 to show up. The report states that the Red Dead Redemption 2 DLC will see you return as lead actor Arthur Morgan, focusing on aliens. Aliens that until now only appeared in the form of Easter eggs found in the open world of the game.
Spoilers (!) For those who still have to complete the game. If you’ve seen how Red Dead Redemption 2 ends, you might be surprised to hear that Arthur Morgan might return for this DLC. In that case it is likely that this DLC (if real) would play in the same way as the Undead Nightmare extension of Red Dead Redemption, completely separate from the events in the main campaign.
A remake of the original Red Dead Redemption
Rumor has it that Rockstar is working on a completely new version of the original Red Dead Redemption from 2010, including all new gameplay functions and graphic upgrades of the sequel and even including new voices from the main cast. Arthur would also be present in the story and seamlessly connect the two games.
The source of Throwaway11113454 says the Red Dead Redemption remake was meant to appear around the 10th anniversary of the game next year. But internal delays make a December 2020 / January 2021 window more likely. That said … it’s a rumor to be taken with a grain of salt.
The Reddit account itself has almost no history to give any authority to its conclusions. Yet we cannot help but wonder what Rockstar is currently working on, in addition to Red Dead Online, mainly because that recent GTA 6 leak is so incredibly interesting (and just as hard to believe …) What do you think about such a DLC and remake?
