Polish studio CD Projekt Red had yet pushed back the release of Cyberpunk 2077, to the dismay and aggravation of most people waiting. By dismay and aggravation, this isn’t actually anything too light, as the developers have actually gotten some death threats since the December delay announcement.
In a tweet by senior game designer Andrzej Zawadzki, he was asking that fans give them some common human decency and stop giving them death threats for not prematurely releasing the game.
The road to Cyberpunk 2077’s release was definitely not the easiest. It originally should only have been a PC game, but the span of its reached had pushed it to have patrons over the Google Stadia, PS4, PS4 Pro, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. There is definitely much work to do from there moving forward. Originally set to release on April 16, the studio had then forced its people to do mandatory overtime just to get this get out and going. It’s definitely not easy for them, as some employees are currently clocking 100-hour work weeks just to get this game out. The scariest of all is that the “day 0” launch patch that was promised upon the announcement delay would instantly have the developers grind through three weeks of hell.
But even the inhumane conditions, fans still overlook how important it is for CD Projekt Red to not pull a Hello Games No Man’s Sky kind of situation upon the game’s release. But case in point, people are just fucking disgusting. Throw all the jokes you want at it, but never threaten any person’s life for a piece of work they have been pouring everything they have on it.
The hype definitely isn’t going away anytime soon, especially that the sales are looking good and the clout is looking fierce. The game has recently just gone gold, and it’s definitely only going to go up from there. So people, please stop being messed up assholes.
