Xbox and PC Exclusive: The Medium

Here’s everything you need to know about Xbox’s newest horror exclusive.

Last May 7th, Bloober Team revealed a brand new horror game exclusive to the Xbox Series S/X and PC. It’s called The Medium, a third-person psychological horror game.

Not many details are released about the game, but it looks very promising. It is gen-exclusive, meaning you can’t play it on the Xbox One. It is developed by Bloober Team, the studio behind popular horror games like Observer, Layers of Fear, and Blair Witch. With the Xbox Series S/X’s power, we might see one of the best horror games for Xbox.

In The Medium, you play as the female protagonist, Marianne. A psychic who is haunted by a masked girl named Sadness.

You find yourself traveling to the abandoned Niwa Hotel when you start the game. You will be traversing two realms, ours and the spirit realm as you solve puzzles and escape hostile forces.

You will play in both worlds simultaneously, you will have to go back and forth between realms to solve puzzles. They call it dual-reality action.

Dual-reality is made possible thanks to the Xbox Series S/X hardware and ultra-fast SSD. This removes loading time when you switch realms. This has also something to do with Bloober’s ‘super secret feature’.

While it is announced that the game is an Xbox and PC exclusive, it is possible that PlayStation 5 console owners could play the game on a later release date. The Medium is not an Xbox Global Publishing game so it may be a timed Xbox exclusive.

The Medium Medium has been nominated for the GoldenJoystick Awards in the Most Wanted Game category.

The Medium is set to release Holiday 2020 and will be available on Xbox Game Pass.

Here are more previews of The Medium.

We will be updating you with more The Medium news soon. Are you going to play the game when it releases?
